Yesterday we were recording basses for new song we are making at the moment. Last time we recorded bass Tom really liked the sound of my ESP Amaze Deluxe 5-string bass, so it was no brainer that I took it with me this time also! Here’s a little bit about the gear we used when we recorded the bass!
ESP Amaze 5-string in Black Turquoise color!
I don’t usually use 5-string basses with Madcraft, but this one has really nice sound when recording. […] Read more!
1. Basically all it needs is a simple Finnish type of upper secondary school riff, which basically means a riff that every guitarist starts to play when they first grab a guitar. A great example of this is the riff on Peace And Quiet by Death Before Dishonor just before the second chorus. […] Read more!
On deciding the playlist for this week we thought we’d do one on Hardcore Punk. At that point Juho said he doesn’t really know what’s good Hardcore. He knows his Pop Punk and Post Hardcore but didn’t really know where to draw the line on Hardcore. So the rest of us decided we’d put together a list of our favorite Hardcore bands for him.
As you may have seen, we do almost everything ourselves and we definitely appreciate the DIY aspect of our band. We produce and record our own music, and in addition to that we shoot our photos and videos ourselves (except all the live gig photos…). We started out with just some simple compact cameras and handycams, but after a while we felt that we had to find something better.
For all the more serious work we use Canon DSLRs, such as Canon 60D and Canon 600D. […] Read more!
We had an acoustic gig at a private party tonight. Everything went smoothly and we had some time off between soundcheck and our set. And since the gig was in downtown Helsinki we went to see what one of our favorite music stores Musamaailma had to offer.
Otto tried to find a replacement for a cymbal he recently broke in rehearsals a couple days ago. You know how he hits those things. They never stay in one piece too long…
So we headed to the Istanbul Agop Xist section to try out some cymbals. […] Read more!
We got our first full band cover video on YouTube a couple days ago and it’s already doing pretty good. If you’ve seen it you already know the song. One of our favorites: Teenage Dirtbag originally by Wheatus.
It’s a good song and we all know that. But it’s probably much better in our heads than the actual recording. The production quality and drive of the original aren’t maybe quite there in today’s standards. That’s why we wanted to play and record it like we hear it in our heads. […] Read more!
It’s been on my to-do list for like forever to get an Official MadCraft Tumblr going. Tumblr is a cool place with a lot of really awesome stuff so I finally got my act together and just put it up.
We’re going to be posting a lot of pics from our Instagram, Blog and other sites there. BUT! There’s also going to be some stuff you can’t find anywhere else and maybe some older photos from the archives. […] Read more!
On this week’s playlist we dive deep into the realm of live albums. A lot of production work is done to songs in the studio. Some songs sound totally different live from the studio version. So which songs are better live than on a studio album? Read on to find out!
There are thousand reasons why you should be carrying a toolbox with you all the time, since there is always something to be fixed with. However, a full-sized toolbox might be a bit exaggerated for your average gig. So it’s better have a small multi-tool, which includes all the necessary functions in portable size.
THE multi-tool is of course Leatherman, but for most cases that is too expensive to be carried around. The more you do shows, the more the chances it will get lost or stolen. […] Read more!
I’m a huge guitar hero fan. And I don’t mean just the game even if I own almost every single one of them. But you know, real human guitar heroes. Though some might argue that some of them are closer to gods than humans. At least Yngwie Malmsteen is.
Yngwie is not the only guitar hero I enjoy listening to. One of the more bluesy ones is the amazing Joe Bonamassa. And what do you know, he decided to make our lives better by playing a show right here in Helsinki, Finland. […] Read more!
