YEAH! Can you still remember our latest video Please Return My Heart? If not, you should definitely check it out before reading this post:
When I had cut the whole video I thought that I should add some sort of an effect on this video. I decided to ask from Otto and Tom for some suggestions and Tom said that I should go for Max Payne 3 effects. I checked out the first Max Payne 3 trailer that I could find, and it was this one:
There are two different effects: RGB split and strong desaturation combined with boosted exposure. […] Read more!
Like we yesterday promised the Official Acoustic video for Shining Bright is now out on YouTube. Hooray!
The video is basically the sequel to the original Music Video since it has the footage from the rest of the UMK competition right up until the final. I’m so glad Juho had the patience to carry that camera with him everywhere all the way through. The whole thing was definitely an experience to remember and now we have something to remind us. We’ve been talking about the acoustic version of Shining Bright for some time. We actually had the song recorded about a month ago. We even played live a couple times. But as we found out UMK demanded our full attention and we couldn’t get it out earlier.
After it was all over I came to the realization that what we had was good but not quite good enough. I for example had recorded my main vocal parts in a bit of a hurry so I had to do those again with some more thought and concentration. […] Read more!
We played an acoustic set at the Kamppi Center in downtown Helsinki. It was amazing to see a lot of you people there. Thank you for coming! And thanks goes out to the people working for Kamppi for letting us play there. Hope we get to do it again sometime soon!
After a few years gifs are coming back to MadCraft’s roster. They are the most old school form of internet animation and on their best when they are short and repeat to infinity with full speed. Gifs can be extracted from videos, but personally I prefer gifs that are made from a series of actual photos. Video GIFs feel somehow fake and even too easy.
To be able to do a gif, you need a series of photos. […] Read more!
When I got interested in photography for real, I needed a new camera that could handle all the different situations. I was into shooting live shows and some backstage material.
So the camera had to perform well in low light situations and have video capabilities. Since pocket sized cameras are not designed for extreme low light performance, it had to be a DSLR. And I wanted go with one from a major brand.
Every photographer knows about the war between Canon and Nikon users. […] Read more!
Just noticed today that our music video of Happy Song got past the 15 000 views mark. That’s pretty sweet!
I’m glad to see it catching up our other music videos in terms of views. As a fun statistical fact the leader at the moment is Everybody Say with 32 000 views and behind that comes All I Want (Is You) with 21 000 views. To be fair they’ve both been out far longer than Happy Song so I think it’s doing alright. […] Read more!
As you may have seen, we do almost everything ourselves and we definitely appreciate the DIY aspect of our band. We produce and record our own music, and in addition to that we shoot our photos and videos ourselves (except all the live gig photos…). We started out with just some simple compact cameras and handycams, but after a while we felt that we had to find something better.
For all the more serious work we use Canon DSLRs, such as Canon 60D and Canon 600D. […] Read more!
We had an acoustic gig at a private party tonight. Everything went smoothly and we had some time off between soundcheck and our set. And since the gig was in downtown Helsinki we went to see what one of our favorite music stores Musamaailma had to offer.
Otto tried to find a replacement for a cymbal he recently broke in rehearsals a couple days ago. You know how he hits those things. They never stay in one piece too long…
So we headed to the Istanbul Agop Xist section to try out some cymbals. […] Read more!
